Mornings at a Beach

Chennai is a city blessed in many ways. For one, it is the land of AR Rahman and Ravichandran Ashwin. For another, north Indians, who look for a Hauz Khas Village wherever they are, despise it and therefore avoid it. Surely there can't be a better thing for any human settlement than being avoided by north Indians? And of course, the city is spread out along the shore of Bay of Bengal, and boasts of many, many beaches. There's Marina, one of the longest beaches in the world and now-a-days more a hub of political turmoil. Then there's Elliot's Beach in upmarket Besant Nagar, where Sunday mornings see a large crowd doing zumba to Aluma DolmaFurther south is the smaller and lesser known Thiruvanmiyur beach, blissfully away from meditating politicians, outraging politicians and gyrating zumba enthusiasts...

This photo-blog attempts to capture mornings at the beach.
